RADARSAT-2 data - Automated High Accuracy Geometric Correction and Mosaicking without Ground Control Points

چکیده

Imagine a fully automated system used to produce accurate high resolution radar ortho-images and -mosaics all over the world with excellent reliability! Emergency management teams could then have access to highly-accurate radar data as soon as it becomes available for their time-sensitive needs. This was a difficult task in the past, mainly due to the arduous process of collecting ground control points (GCPs). It is now possible with the successful operation of the RADARSAT-2 satellite and a new 3D hybrid satellite model that process this data without user-collected GCPs.

Comparison of Orbit-Based and Time-Offset-Based Geometric Correction Models for SAR Satellite Imagery Based on Error Simulation

Geometric correction of SAR satellite imagery is the process to adjust the model parameters that define the relationship between ground and image coordinates. To achieve sub-pixel geolocation accuracy, the adoption of the appropriate geometric correction model and parameters is important. Until now, various geometric correction models have been developed and applied. However, it is still diffic...

Geometric Correction and Automatic Dem Extraction of Worldview Stereo Data

The successful operation of the WorldView-1and 2 satellites have enabled advanced high-accuracy mapping using high-resolution satellite images, with and without the use of ground control points (GCPs). The stereo capability of the WorldView sensor also provides the opportunity to extract high-resolution digital elevation models (DEMs). In this paper we will examine the following areas: (1) Each...

Using an Imperialistic Competitive Algorithm in Global Polynomials Optimization (Case Study: 2D Geometric Correction of IKONOS and SPOT Imagery)

The number of high resolution space imageries in photogrammetry and remote sensing society is growing fast. Although these images provide rich data, the lack of sensor calibration information and ephemeris data does not allow the users to apply precise physical models to establish the functional relationship between image space and object space. As an alternative solution, some generalized mode...

Geometric Correction in High Resolution Satellite Imagery using Mathematical Methods: A Case Study in Kiliyar Sub Basin

The number of high resolution space imagery have great interest in the photogrammetric and remote sensing communities. This imagery is considered as a basic information source for mapping with various applications in geomantic. By this hybrid both the projection model and polynomial model in geometric correction of satellite imagery, it needs to control points and standardisation data. In the g...

Effect of Ground Control points Location and Distribution on Geometric Correction Accuracy of Remote Sensing Satellite Images

The most common approach for geometric correction is the use of mapping polynomial. . It depends on selection of several clearly discernible points, called ground control points (GCPs), in the distorted image, and map them either to their true positions in ground coordinates (e.g. latitude, longitude) measured from a map, or to georeferenced image (corrected before), coordinates of correspondin...
